Juliet Ibrahim is a mother, an actress, musician, humanitarian, producer and entrepreneur. She was born into the family of a Lebanese father; Mr. Hussein Ibrahim and a half Liberian/Ghanaian mother; Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Ibrahim on the 3rd of March 1986. She grew up in Liberia, Lebanon, Ghana and Ivory Coast and is the eldest of 3 siblings.
She is the face of Nigerian womenswear brand, Abbyke Domina’s celebrity shoot. Check out an excerpt from her interview and pictures from the shoot below.

How can you describe your fashion lifestyle?
I can describe it as daring, spontaneous and very creative

How do you handle fashion stress?
I don’t usually get stressed when it comes to fashion, simply because I’m not into trends or what’s in vogue, I don’t rack my brain over what to wear that much, I just wear what makes me comfortable .
 
Your fashion accessories you will never go a day without?
My sunglasses, handbag, wristwatch

Dominican American fashion designer Óscar Arístides Renta Fiallo, professionally known as Oscar de la Renta passed away yesterday. Born July 22nd 1932, Mr Fiallo specialized in evening wear and bridal attire, he dressed many icons from Jacqueline Kennedy in the 1960’s to Rihanna, Beyonce, Kerry Washington in 2011, 2008 & 2014 respectively.
His self named label, Oscar de la Renta is allegedly worth 200 million dollars.

2014 Nollywood Movie Awards: Full List of Winners and Review (Part 1)

The 3rd edition of the 2014 Nollywood Movie Awards, took place yesterday at the ground ballroom of the Intercontinental Hotel, Kofo Abayomi Street Victoria Island and Xplore was there live to get the scoop. The ceremony is the second one I am attending and I must add, that the row call of nominees was pretty tough. The actors and actresses had an impressive outing as I had to give some of them second looks.

Fashion Designer Oscar de la Renta Dies at 82

 

One of the world's most legendary fashion designers, Oscar de la Renta, is dead.Known for dressing celebrities, stateswomen and fashionistas of all kinds, de la Renta's most recent famous moment came when he designed Amal Clooney's wedding dress just last month. He had been diagnosed with cancer in 2006 but it's unclear at this point what caused his death. He was aged 82. 

Taylor Swift – “Dating Is The Last Thing On My Mind”

Taylor Swift is giving her much-broken heart a well-needed rest.
“Dating or finding someone is the last thing on my mind, because I can’t picture how it could work with the way my life is,” Swift, cover star of Vogue U.K.‘s November issue, told the magazine.
Swift added that her life as a celebrity is too chaotic for another person to deal with:
“I don’t know how a guy is supposed to walk next to his girlfriend when there are 20 men with cameras, and he can’t protect his girlfriend because that’s the life she chose. I just don’t see how it could work, so I don’t think about it, and I kind of run from it when it presents itself. Cause I don’t think any guy really … They think that they would want to get to know me, and maybe date me, but I don’t think they want what comes with it,” Swift told Vogue U.K.

This year Guaranty Trust Bank Lagos Fashion and Design Week (GTBank LFDW) launched Lagos Fashion and Design Week Fashion Focus (LFDW Fashion Focus), a year-long initiative aimed at developing the Nigerian fashion industry.
In partnership with, Frallain Inc and Istituto Marangoni, LFDW Fashion Focus will offer fashion designers opportunities to be participants at targeted workshops and networking sessions between 2014 and 2015. They will also have a chance to exhibit their collection in front of a select audience at Guaranty Trust Bank Lagos Fashion and Design Week October, 2014.
15 participants; Michael Shumaker, Olivia & Sylvia Enekwe, Mimi Habibah, Franklyn Uchechukwu, Titi Belo, Jumoke Ademilua, Temitayo Nathan, Oluwatobi Akintoye, Abimbola Oye, Oyindamola Omolale, Adeju Thompson, Babatunde Oyeyemi, Omowunmi Owonifari, Lamipo Somoye and Ugonna Ibe were selected out of over One Hundred competitive applications by the LFDW Fashion Focus judges; Wadami Amolegbe (LFDW Fashion Focus, Creative Director), Kehinde Okunoren ( Designer, Okunoren Twins), Dimeji Alara (Genevieve Magazine Editor) and Oluwabunmi Alake (Project Co-ordinator, British Council)
As part of phase One activation, Fashion Focus hosted a comprehensive 3-Day workshop for the 15 designers in partnership with various institutions and prestigious industry leaders from Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Facilitators included Mrs. A.B Lemon (HOD, Industrial Design department, Yaba College of Technology), Mrs. Adejuyitan (Head of Fashion Section, Yaba College of Technology), Mr. Adeyemo (Screen Printing, Yaba College of Technology), Mr. Benjamin Akano, (Chief Lecturer, Department of Industrial Design, Yaba College of Technology),  Nike Awoyinka ( Head of International Development ,Ravensborne, UK), Elena Corchero (Lost Values, UK), Iain and Andrew Foxall (Foxall Studios, UK).

She did have the decency to cover her modesty with a huge red heart, however.

But the big question is, who took the snap?

We can’t decide if we prefer Miley covered with a heart while showering, or that eye-bleeder of an outfit she was wearing at her debut art show in New York earlier in the week.

Nigerian man dies after jumping off 3rd floor during drug raid in India

 

A 35 year old Nigerian man named Obyeka Anwanbukwa suspected to be involved in drugs peddling died on Saturday September 13th after jumping from the window of a third floor flat from a high rise (pictured above) during a drug raid in Akash Bhavan in th eBhaunagar area of Pimple Gurav in India

According to reports, a joint team of India's Narcotic Control Bureau, NCB, and some police officers, stormed the apartment where the deceased and his other Nigerian friends were staying around 8 on Saturday night and while being interrogated, Obyeka allegedly ran off and jumped from the 3rd floor of the building. He died of his injuries a few hours later. Continue...

Kendall Jenner maybe sees enough of Kim Kardashian at home, so she doesn’t want to see her at her fashion shows.
Kendall, 18, said in a recent interview that she told her elder half-sister to stay away when’s she on the runway.
Kendall explained: ‘She called me before and was like, ‘Hey I was invited to the show, I just wanted to let you know. Do you want me to come?’ and I was like, ‘No.’
Kendall has been on a rise in the modelling world, tearing runways apart and landing magazine covers, including Vogue.

RAAAH Rules the Runway at Africa Fashion Week London 2014 with Debut Collection ‘Fly/Fly High’

Following on from a successful three days at UK’s biggest trade show PURE London, RAAAH took to the runway at the fourth edition of Africa Fashion Week London, presenting the debut collection ‘Fly/Fly High’ to an international audience; a huge feat for an emerging label.
Founded in April 2014, RAAAH is the brainchild of businesswoman turned fashion designer Rahima Mohamed.
Talking about her overall experience at African Fashion Week London, Rahima said, “My first AFWL experience was amazing, I learned a lot about the backstage madness and met so many talented emerging designers that inspired me to challenge myself more, so it was really a great experience.”
